What Will I Play? E3 2016 Video Game Announcements

It’s that time of the year I guess. E3 2016 has gone and went this year and I thought it might be a fun idea to make a post talking about ten of the games that I felt like it excited me the most to see. Some of them I may never play in my lifetime but at least they looked cool. Just remember that this list is my own personal opinion so don’t be too upset if something that was your favorite wasn’t mentioned, so feel free to mention it in the comment section down below. Instead of dilly dallying talking about random background stuff let’s just jump right down into the list.

==================================================================

Game Title: Sea of Thieves
Developers: Rare
Platform: Xbox One, Microsoft Windows
Release Date: Winter 2017
Not entirely a game that I plan to buy but it is one that I would love to pick up a control and play with friends. I love the idea of taking control of a pirate ship and having to face off against my friends to sink the enemy boat.

Game Title: Pyre
Developers: Supergiant Games
Platform: Playstation 4, Steam
Release Date: 2017
The main reasons as to why I am really looking forward to this game is because it is being made by the team who made Bastion and The Transistor. I have yet to play The Transistor however I have played Bastion which I found that game extremely unique and fun. So I am not entirely sure what the game Pyre will be like but I am looking forward to it. Also this maybe one of the few games that I will might actually end up buying, out of everything on this list.

Game Title: Days Gone
Developers: SIE Bend Studios
Platform: Playstation 4
Release Date: TBA
Oh look another zombie game! But hey, it looks fun and challenging. Not to much to say about it but I absolutely fell in love with the way how the trailer was constructed. The way how they looked back at the man’s past and talked about his remembrance of what the world used to be before the zombie apocalypse broke out. Not a game that I see myself ever playing, but it did look really interesting.

Game Title: Horizon: Zero Dawn
Developers: Guerilla Games
Platform: Playstation 4
Release Date: February 28, 2017
Visually this game looks incredible. Not entirely sure how the games will play out but I love the setting and the colors used in the game. The mix of the time period with the robotic beasts is really intriguing.  Oddly I remember seeing this game last E3 and was extremely interested then, but now it just did not excite me as much as the first time. Either way this looks to be one of the games that might actually inspire me to pick up a Playstation 4.

Game Title: Final Fantasy XV
Developers: Square Enix
Platform: Playstation 4, Xbox One
Release Date: September 30, 2016
I’m gunna be honest with all of you. I’ve never actually played a Final Fantasy game and I have no idea where to start. Tho I do have a copy of FF VII sitting on my steam account untouched which I hope to play soon. I really have no excuses on why I have never played the Final Fantasy franchise, but I guess you need to start off somewhere.

Feel free to comment down below which games from the Final Fantasy franchise that you recommend me play.

Game Title: We Happy Few
Developers: Compulsion Games
Platform: Xbox One, Steam
Release Date: July 26, 2016
This game is creepy. It’s a dystopian society set in 1967 England where every citizen is high on a state required drug called “Joy”. Every citizen is wearing a really creepy like mask and their goal is to chase after you and make them become “one of them”. It’s so strange and cool that I just want to buy it right away and experience a horror game unlike any other. This has the possibility of being one of the few games that I might actually play from this E3 2016.

Game Title: Death Stranding
Developers: Kojima Productions
Platform: Playstation 4
Release Date: TBA
Kojima… He’s BBAAACCCCKKKKK. Is that all I need to say? But in all seriousness, even tho we never got the chance to see any game play I still am excited. The trailer for this game is so mysterious and creepy. I want to know what the hell is going on: Where is this man? Why is he alone? What is that black fluid? Who’s hand prints are those? Is anyone else on the island alive?. Over all this trailer was gripping and extremely well put together to get people like myself interested in playing the game. Also, that song in the background sets the tone of this trailer perfectly. One last thing “Fuck Konami” – The Internet.

Game Title: Yooka-Laylee
Developers: Playtonic Games
Platform: Wii U, Playstation 4, Xbox One,
Release Date: March 2017
Ahhhhh Banjo-Kazoo… oh wait that’s not what I’m thinking it is! Whatever 😛 It still looks like a lot of fun and is the type of enjoyable 3D platformer that I have been asking for. The game looked great when it was first on Kickstarter, and it still looks amazing. I can’t wait to purchase this bad boy. The one thing that I wish I could change is that it should be released on the Nintendo NX as a launch title instead of being one of the last games released on the Wii U, but that’s just my complaint I guess.

Game Title: The Last Guardian
Developers: Team Ico
Platform: Playstation 4
Release Date: October 25, 2016
First off, I have no idea what this game is about or anything about it really. Just that dog-bird thing and that little boy look amazing. I remember seeing this game announced at last year’s E3 and how it had a massive crowd backing it up. It looks cool and unique, but I really have no idea how the game will play out. This might be one of the reasons why I will consider purchasing an PlayStation 4.

Game Title: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Developers: Nintendo Co.
Platform: Wii U, NX
Release Date: March 2017
Let’s just say that I almost shed a tear when I saw this trailer. I am a HUUUUGGGGEEEEE Nintendo and Zelda fan. Was excited for this game since well… Skyward Sword was released… so it’s been a LOOOONNNGGGGG wait. I remember when this game was slated to be released back in 2014. *contains inner rage* Nintendo, why do you keep putting out a release date then pushing it back by a year???… FOR 4 YEARS NOW!!!! But the wait was totally worth it. I am a huge nature buff so I love the careful detail put into this world. I hope that there will be more enemies in the wild then what we got in the demo and more to do in the world, but that’s my only complaint. The reinventing of the this game and the Zelda Formula is super refreshing and is a nice step back into what the game originally was meant to be about exploration. Either way this trailer is beautiful and just want to buy it already. Nintendo take my money!!! Will definitely pick this game up day one as well as an NX to play it on. This is a game that I feel as if everyone and their dog NEEDS to play. I don’t care if you have never played a Zelda before, this will be a perfect starting point… But while you’re waiting I highly suggest you go check out and play some of the other games in the franchise.

To note; The last guardian was in development hell for A VERY LONG time. It was originally meant for the PS3. But with differences with Sony & the game director, who left the team but worked on it as a consultant. It’s good that they’ve finally given it a release date.

Since you have a Steam copy of Final Fantasy VII, you may want to install the Retranslation patch before playing it. The original translation was never truly fixed unlike that for every other game in the series before 8, when the finally got gud.

If you want to start final fantasy I recommend 10 as well it is the Las modern ff game to actually be good. I think ita the beat gateway be ausr it is both modern and good and its combat doesnt differ that much from the older games so ita good for transitioning.
