Pokémon Sun & Moon: My Pokemon Gym

I know what you might be thinking… “But Magnitude, isn’t this supposed to be an anime blog? Why have you recently made two different blog posts involving video games?”. Well, my immediate response to this question would have to be because I have some interests in some different topics besides just anime; video games just so happens to be one of them.

Over the past few weeks on youtube I recently stumbled upon a video called “Pokémon Sun and Moon: My Pokemon Gym” and it was produced by the Pokétuber named “Bird Keeper Toby”. In the video he goes through a list of different things that he would want to include in his very own pokemon gym if he were given the option of making his very own gym, and it got me thinking on what I would want my very own gym to be like if I were to create my own.

Now that we have gotten through the backstory behind the inspiration of this post, let’s jump right on into what I would want my very own pokémon gym to look like.

=================================================================

Typing & Placement
If any of you were to follow my twitter account you would notice how I am a huge outdoors buff. I love hiking and climbing mountains. Not to mention how I dream to work at a national park one day; with that being said, I have decided to have my pokemon gym be specialize in Ground Type pokémon and will be the 8th and final gym that trainers will have to face as they head out to face the Elite Four. As for the design of the gym? It will be a literal mountain which it will most likely be located right here, on the Alola Region Map.

Gym Design
As you already heard, I plan to have my gym that is a literal mountain. Not inside of a building, but an actual rock formation. I plan for this mountain to be surrounded by a forest and a few ponds along the trail. Trainers will need to scale to the very top of the mountain by going back and forth on switchbacks, and as the end of these switchbacks will be a challenger sitting right there waiting for them. But since I am a nice guy, I have decided to place a few secret paths along the trail where trainers can use HM01 Cut to get rid of a bush in the way of them allowing them to skip a few challengers before them. And as the trainers near the top of the mountain they will notice little patches of snow on the ground, this is up until they reach the very top where they will encounter me… the gym leader. I will be standing on a giant wooden platform while turned around and looking off towards the sunset in the background. There will be a two PokéHealers right on the edge of my platform to help prepare the trainers for the challenge that is myself and to prevent them from needing to go back down the mountain just to heal up, there will not be a PC up there tho; the challenger will need to work with the pokémon that they brought up there with them. Once the challenger is ready, they will walk up the wooden platform and walks up towards me then have to tap me on the shoulder to get my attention, then I will start greeting the challenger.

===================The Overlook Platform===================

Entrance Item
At the very bottom of the mountain the trainers will walk up to a small booth stationed right outside the start of the path, there will be a ranger inside of this booth who will warn them of the challenge that is looming before of them. The ranger will give them a Fresh Water as a reminder to stay hydrated as they travel up the mountain and a hint that my weakness is water types.

Challengers
The trainers stationed at the end of each switch back will range from Tourists, Backpackers, and Pokémon Rangers.

Challengers Pokémon
The most amount of pokemon that a trainer will have is three. As to what pokémon are on their team, it is not up to me. But here are all of the different pokémon that you will see them carrying on their team.

  • Donphan
  • Gastrodon
  • Gliscor
  • Graveler
  • Krokorok
  • Piloswine
  • Sandslash
  • Stunfisk

My Gym Leader Quote
Once the exhausted challenger has reached myself, I will turn around and greet them. Here are the words that I will ultimately end up saying.

And there you have it people, my very own idea for a pokémon gym that I was given complete control in creating. Now it is your turn! I thought this would be a perfect time to make this post with the recent release of Pokémon Go, so I have decided to start this post more or less as a tag post! If you know anyone who might be interested or if you are interested, then join into the fun and be sure to tag me to your post over twitter if you decide to make your own post or youtube video about this very topic.

As for myself, I have decided to tag the following people:

    This post was an awesome idea. I’m also a fan of Pokemon and I’m surprised that I have never thought of this before. Would it be okay if I did my own version of this?

    This is a really interesting idea. Your idea of having a gym in the mountains and having those Pokémon sound fitting. I might have to think about what do I want.

      2. I had this written for the most part before pokemon go launched, but once it did, i thought it would be a great idea to put it out now before it was too late.
